General Poultry Company B.S.C. has opened an international consultancy tender for a detailed opportunity and feasibility assessment covering Bahrain’s poultry and animal feed industries. The tender, numbered 7/2026/GPC (IN/GPC/2026/07), seeks qualified advisory firms to evaluate strategic investment prospects for an integrated broiler poultry operation, alongside an animal feed and feed mill business. The 12-month assignment is intended to help determine whether such investments are commercially, technically and financially viable in the local market. Consultancy firms with relevant sector expertise, regional experience and strong financial modelling capabilities are being invited to submit proposals through the official eTendering process.
Two-Phase Assessment Planned
The work will be carried out in two stages. The first phase will focus on the market opportunity, including demand trends, market size, growth expectations, competition, pricing, profitability and potential gaps that could support new investment.
This stage will also examine import-substitution opportunities, possible target market share and optimal production capacity before reaching a recommendation on whether the project should move forward.
Feasibility Work if Project Advances
If General Poultry Company decides to proceed after the initial review, the second phase will involve a full feasibility study. This will cover market-entry routes, operating models, technical options, production capacity, land and infrastructure needs, biosecurity considerations and raw material sourcing.
The selected consultant will also assess capital expenditure, operating costs, working capital requirements and implementation needs.
Financial Model Required
A key part of the consultancy scope will be the preparation of an integrated financial model. This is expected to include internal rate of return, net present value, payback period, scenario analysis, sensitivity testing, financing requirements and an overall investment case.
Tender Dates and Requirements
The tender was published on 5 October 2026, with documents available for purchase until 27 October 2026. Bids close on 4 November 2026 and are scheduled to open on 5 November 2026. The tender fee is BD 30, while the initial bond is BD 1,000 with a 90-day validity period. Alternate bids are permitted, and the opportunity is not reserved exclusively for SMEs.
