Bahrain Polytechnic and OutSystems, a leading Agentic Systems Platform, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at creating new educational and professional development opportunities for students and graduates by connecting academic learning with real-world industry experience in the AI and agentic era. The MoU will contribute to developing digital skills, fostering innovation, and enhancing students’ readiness for the labour market.
The MoU will provide Bahrain Polytechnic students with access to real-world applied projects sourced through OutSystems client network, alongside technical training and mentorship from industry experts. These opportunities will enable students to gain practical experience in application development and emerging technologies while applying their academic knowledge to address real-world challenges.
The agreement also includes internship and employment opportunities, as well as initiatives that encourage students to further develop their projects and continue working on them beyond graduation. This will create opportunities to transform student ideas and projects into practical solutions, while supporting a smoother transition from academic learning to professional practice and innovation.
Commenting on the MoU, Professor Ciarán Ó Catháin, Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Polytechnic, said that the agreement reflects Bahrain Polytechnic’s commitment to expanding its relationships with global technology companies and further integrating industry expertise into the applied learning experience.
He said: “This MoU represents an important opportunity to connect our students directly with the rapid developments and innovations taking place in the technology sector, particularly in application development and artificial intelligence. By drawing on OutSystems’ expertise and client network, students will be able to engage with real-world projects, learn from industry experts, and develop solutions that respond to industry needs.”
He added: “Providing opportunities for internships and employment, alongside the continued development of student projects beyond graduation, adds an important practical dimension to the student experience. It enables students to translate what they learn into tangible skills and value, contributing to the development of talent capable of meeting the demands of Bahrain’s digital economy.”
