WestPoint has expanded its manufacturing operations in Bahrain with a new facility dedicated to producing fibre fillings for bedding, pillows and other home-textile products. The site was inaugurated by Industry and Commerce Minister HE Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro in the presence of WestPoint CEO Jonathan Storey, officials and industry representatives. The expansion adds to the company’s existing production base in the Kingdom and is expected to strengthen Bahrain’s role as a regional manufacturing hub. It also comes as demand grows across Gulf Cooperation Council markets for locally made home-textile products and more resilient regional supply chains.
Boost for industrial investment
The minister said the project reflects Bahrain’s ability to attract international industrial investment through a competitive business environment. He linked the expansion to the goals of the Industrial Sector Strategy 2022–2026, which focuses on building manufacturing capacity, increasing the sector’s contribution to GDP, and improving export and supply-chain performance.
Wider product range
WestPoint’s new facility will broaden the company’s locally manufactured portfolio beyond its established towel production operations in Bahrain. The added output will include pillows and filled home-textile items, giving regional buyers greater access to products manufactured within the Kingdom.
Fakhro said the investment supports local production, improves product competitiveness and opens further opportunities in regional markets. The facility is also expected to help reduce dependence on imports from outside the Gulf region.
Meeting GCC demand
Storey described Bahrain as a supportive location for investment and said the expansion builds on the company’s previous manufacturing success in the country. The move is aimed at serving rising demand across GCC markets, where consumers and retailers are increasingly looking for reliable regional supply sources.
Made in Bahrain momentum
The development follows Bahrain’s hosting of the inaugural Made in the Gulf 2026 Forum and Exhibition. The event highlighted the growing importance of local manufacturing and the opportunities for producers to meet regional demand with goods made closer to market.
