The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a recall involving frozen prepared meals that may pose a serious risk to people with soy allergies. FSIS announced that Power Plate Meals, LLC, based in West Fargo, North Dakota, is pulling from distribution roughly 5,795 pounds of frozen meatloaf products that contain soy but fail to declare the allergen on the packaging. The agency said the issue involves misbranding and an undeclared, potentially life-threatening allergen. Consumers who have these meals in their freezers are being urged to stop eating them and to follow FSIS guidance for disposal or return. At the time of the announcement, FSIS reported no confirmed illnesses linked to the affected products.
What’s Being Recalled
FSIS identified the recalled items as frozen meatloaf with garlic mashed potatoes sold in 13.3-ounce, vacuum-sealed plastic tray packages. The products list an establishment number of 217SEND inside the USDA mark of inspection. The affected meals were produced between June 25, 2025, and June 10, 2026.
Label Details and “Use By” Dates
Consumers can match the recalled products using the following packaging identifiers: the tray packaging includes the product name “Power Plate Meals Meatloaf With Garlic Mashed Potatoes” and has “Use by” dates ranging from 6/25/2026 to 6/10/2027. Where the Meals Were Distributed
According to FSIS, the frozen meals were shipped to distributors in Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota.
What Consumers Should Do
FSIS said there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions linked to the recalled meals. However, customers are instructed not to consume them. Instead, the agency recommends throwing the products away or returning them to the place of purchase.
