Excitement builds up for the upcoming Bahrain International Garden Show, set to take place
from February 19 to 23, 2025, at Exhibition World Bahrain in Sakhir. This year, the theme of the
show will be decided by the participants, making it a truly collaborative and inclusive event.
Her Excellency Dr. Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa, Secretary General of the National Initiative for
Agricultural Development (NIAD), announced the official opening date of the next edition of the
Bahrain International Garden Show, emphasizing its significance as both a commercial and
educational event.
Dr. Maram, along with Engineer Zahra Abdulmalik, Bahrain Garden Club (BGC) Chairperson,
warmly welcomed attendees at a recent press conference.
Commercial and educational pillars
Dr. Maram highlighted the dual focus of the show. The first pillar is its role as a commercial
platform. “Many companies launched their goods and services using the Bahrain International
Garden Show platform.
They grew with us, and we are proud that they did,” she stated. The event provides companies
with an opportunity to expand their reach, form new partnerships, and create business
relationships with regional and international counterparts.
The second pillar is the show’s educational aspect. Dr. Maram emphasised the importance of
raising awareness about advancements in agriculture and gardening, promoting good farming
practices, and addressing issues of concern to the agriculture sector.
“It’s an opportunity to exchange expertise and ideas and to touch the public. It is thankfully a
well-attended show, so it is a good opportunity for our exhibitors to teach and for our visitors to
learn,” she explained.
Technical and innovative aspects
Eng. Zahra echoed Dr. Mariam’s sentiments and elaborated on the technical and innovative
aspects of the show. Eng. Zahra said: “We are glad to be back in partnership with the
International Garden Show.
In the 2024 show, we celebrated some milestones, such as the 25 years of His Majesty’s Cup
for Residential Gardens, a prestigious achievement.
Entering this category means that your garden is considered exceptionally impressive.
“In September, people can reach out to the Garden Club to start registering for participation.”
Celebrating 60 years of Bahrain Garden Club
The 2025 show will coincide with the 60th anniversary of the Bahrain Garden Club, marking a
significant milestone in the country’s gardening community.
Dr. Maram announced plans to advocate for a larger space for the Bahraini Farmers Market at
the upcoming show, further supporting local farmers and their produce.
Invitation to participate
Dr. Maram extended an invitation to companies and organisations interested in participating in
the Bahrain International Garden Show.
“I’d like to invite companies and organizations that are interested in participating in the Bahrain
International Garden to please contact the National Initiative for Agricultural Development to
book their spaces,” she said, encouraging widespread participation and registration.
Looking forward to success
In her closing remarks, Dr. Maram expressed her optimism for another successful event. “We
look forward to another glittering success,” she concluded, highlighting the show’s potential to
build growth, innovation, and community engagement in Bahrain’s agricultural sector.
