Sharjah Agricultural and Livestock Production Establishment, known as EKTIFA, has moved to widen its regional footprint by launching a selection of organic and healthy food products in Bahrain through a new cooperation agreement with Encyclo Trade and Better Foods. The deal was signed during an event attended by Fahad Mohammed Salem Kardous Al Ameri, the UAE Ambassador to Bahrain, and is aimed at improving access to Gulf-produced food items in the Kingdom. The partnership places Sharjah-made products in front of more consumers and reinforces growing business links between companies across the GCC food sector, particularly in areas linked to healthier and organic choices.
Agreement signed during GCC forum
The cooperation was concluded on the sidelines of the first Made in GCC 2026 Forum and Exhibition, held at Exhibition World Bahrain from Oct. 6 to Oct. 8. The event brought together Gulf companies and institutions to explore trade opportunities, industrial collaboration and cross-border distribution channels.
Through the agreement, EKTIFA and its partners will work on supplying, marketing and expanding the reach of organic and health-focused food products in Bahrain.
Products now available in Bahrain
The range introduced includes Meliha Dairy products along with Saba Sanabel flour and pasta items. These products have already been made available at a number of retail outlets in different parts of Bahrain, giving shoppers broader access to food products made within the Gulf.
The rollout is also expected to support consumer demand for products that emphasize quality, traceability and healthier ingredients.
Boost for Gulf-made goods
Dr. Eng. Khalifa Musabeh Al Teneiji, Chairman of the Department of Agriculture and Livestock and CEO of EKTIFA, described the partnership as an important move in expanding the establishment’s presence in Gulf markets. He indicated that the agreement opens new routes for commercial and marketing cooperation while making EKTIFA products easier to obtain in Bahrain and elsewhere in the region.
Regional cooperation in focus
Al Teneiji also highlighted that participation in the Made in GCC 2026 event enabled EKTIFA to meet potential partners and identify areas for future cooperation. The agreement reflects wider efforts to strengthen intra-GCC trade, support private-sector collaboration and enhance integration between the region’s food and industrial sectors.
