Registration Opens for 14th Bahraini Farmers’ Market Season

The Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture has begun accepting applications for the 14th edition of the Bahraini Farmers’ Market, a key seasonal platform for showcasing local produce and supporting national agriculture. Registration for the 2026–2027 season opened on Sunday, October 18, and will continue until Saturday, October 31. The market is planned to return to Budaiya Botanical Garden, bringing together farmers, producers and visitors in a setting dedicated to locally grown goods. The initiative is being organised with the National Initiative for Agricultural Development and stc Bahrain as partners.

Applications Now Open

The ministry said the registration period gives interested Bahraini farmers and agricultural participants time to apply for inclusion in the upcoming season. The market has become one of the country’s recognised outlets for promoting fresh produce, encouraging direct contact between growers and consumers, and increasing public awareness of local farming.

Preparations Underway

Jaafar Sami Al Tajer, director of Local Agricultural Production at the ministry and head of the market’s supervisory team, said preparations are in place for the new edition. The ministry is working to ensure the event is ready to receive participants and visitors at Budaiya Botanical Garden.

Support for Local Agriculture

The Bahraini Farmers’ Market forms part of wider efforts to strengthen the agricultural sector and provide farmers with a visible marketplace for their products. By hosting the event in a popular public venue, organisers aim to make locally produced fruit, vegetables and related goods more accessible to residents and families.

Partnership Approach

The 14th edition will be held in co-operation with the National Initiative for Agricultural Development and stc Bahrain. The partnership is expected to support the market’s organisation and public reach as it prepares for another season focused on Bahrain’s farming community.
