Buthoor Al Bahrain, a pioneering initiative for sustainable urban development in Bahrain, made
a significant visit to the British Embassy to advance its mission of promoting urban greening
and enhancing public spaces. The initiative, a collaboration between UN-Habitat and Bahrain’s
Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, aligns with the Kingdom’s National
Afforestation Plan to double the number of trees by 2035.
During the visit, representatives from Buthoor Al Bahrain met with British Embassy officials to
exchange ideas on fostering a greener future. The discussion emphasized the critical role of
joint partnerships in achieving sustainable urban development and environmental conservation.
A highlight of the event was the symbolic distribution of trees, reinforcing a shared commitment
to environmental stewardship. Both parties aim to inspire individuals and organizations across
Bahrain to engage in green initiatives and take steps toward sustainability.
