Bahrain’s Fourth Constituency Sewerage Upgrades Scheduled for 2026

The Ministry of Works in Bahrain has announced detailed plans for sewerage projects targeting the Northern Fourth Constituency in the Northern Governorate for the year 2026. This information was provided in response to a parliamentary inquiry from MP Hasan Ibrahim Hasan and highlights the government’s infrastructure commitments for the upcoming period.

Ongoing Sewerage Projects

Currently, three major sewerage initiatives are underway and will continue their progress during 2026. In Abu Quwah, a complete sewerage network installation is in process, involving construction of a new pumping station and laying extensive pipelines to serve numerous residential units. In Al Qadam and Jabalat Habshi areas, efforts focus on widening the capacity of an existing pumping station and extending sewer lines to boost service coverage. Additionally, southern Sehla hosts a large-scale project at an advanced stage with completion anticipated within this year, making it the sole sewerage scheme expected to conclude fully in 2026.

Future Plans and Designs

The ministry further revealed plans for upcoming projects in Salmabad, specifically in blocks 708 and 714. Designs for these locations have been finalized, with constructions tentatively slated for the final quarter of 2026 after fulfilling necessary technical and administrative requirements. The execution timeline for these projects remains conditional upon these factors.

Financial and Oversight Details

The ongoing sewerage developments have a combined funding value surpassing eleven million Bahraini dinars, reflecting considerable investment in underground infrastructure enhancements. Although financial allocations are defined, fixed deadlines for completion have not been uniformly assigned across all projects.

From a legislative perspective, the response clarifies the scope, costs, and locations of the projects but maintains timeline flexibility. MP Hasan Ibrahim Hasan is expected to continue oversight to ensure that the government’s commitments translate into meaningful infrastructure improvements for residents throughout 2026 and beyond.
