Bahrain Invites Bids for Multi-Storey Factory Project in Salman Industrial City

Bahrain has opened bidding for a new multi-storey factory development at Salman Industrial City, as part of efforts to expand flexible industrial space for entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized manufacturers. The Ministry of Industry and Commerce is inviting companies and investors to compete for the project, which will be located within the Bahrain International Investment Park in Hidd. The initiative is designed to make better use of industrial land by placing multiple production units inside one building, giving smaller firms access to facilities that may otherwise be difficult to secure. The project was introduced during the Made in GCC 2026 Forum and Exhibition.

Project site and scale

The planned development will sit on a 6,700-square-metre plot in Salman Industrial City. According to project details, the building is expected to cover about 2,680 square metres at ground level, with a total built-up area of roughly 10,720 square metres.

Its multi-level format will allow several industrial units to operate within the same complex, creating a more efficient model for businesses that need smaller, purpose-built manufacturing spaces.

Lease model for investors

The bidding process will be evaluated based on the rental value proposed for the land. The winning bidder will enter into a lease agreement with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and will be responsible for developing, building and operating the facility.

Once completed, the industrial units must be leased only to entrepreneurs and SMEs, in line with the rules governing the project.

Support for industrial SMEs

Officials said the project is intended to reduce barriers for smaller manufacturers looking to enter or expand within Bahrain’s industrial sector. By offering more adaptable spaces, the facility is expected to support modern industrial activities and help companies scale operations more efficiently.

The ministry sees the development as part of a wider plan to strengthen industrial infrastructure, diversify the production base and make better use of limited industrial land.

Bidding deadline

Interested investors and companies can review the project requirements and submit bids through the Tender Board’s electronic platform. The bidding window is scheduled to close on Wednesday, December 23, 2026.
