Bahrain Development Bank Partners with Ahli United Bank to Sponsor the Farmers Market

Bahrain Development Bank (BDB) has announced Ahli United Bank as a sponsor of the Farmers Market in Hoorat A’ali. As part of the agreement, Ahli United Bank will support initiatives dedicated to the sustainable growth of the Farmers Market.

The Farmers Market enables Bahraini farmers to sell fresh and locally grown organic products as well as exchange their collective expertise with one another. The market aims to develop agriculture in the Kingdom to rival high-quality global produce and goods. The market also contributes to enhancing food security by utilising exceptional Bahraini products, opening doors for international exports and ensuring the sustained marketing of national agricultural products.

Commenting on the partnership, Ms. Dalal Al Qais, Chief Executive Officer of BDB, said: “We are proud to be joining forces with Ahli United Bank to support more impactful initiatives tied to the Farmers Market and its role in supporting farmers and the agricultural sector in Bahrain. We firmly believe in the importance of adopting sustainable practices and investing in our community. As such, we aspire to build our partnerships to expand growth opportunities and empower local projects. We are committed to highlighting food security endeavours, which aim to make use of the country’s resources and further contribute to its economic prosperity.”

On his end, Mr. Ahmed Soud Alkharji, Group Chief Executive Officer of Ahli United Bank, said: “We are pleased to be partnering with BDB to support this prominent project in the Kingdom. Through our role, we look forward to empowering farmers and promoting the export and sustainability of local agricultural products.
