Bahrain has earned the fourth spot among Gulf countries and the sixth position across the Arab region in the 2025 Arab Food Security Index, according to the World Population Review. This achievement underscores Bahrain’s notable progress in enhancing its national food security framework.

The index assessed twelve Arab nations based on their capacity to supply food reliably, the sustainability of food reserves, and the robustness of supply chains. Bahrain outperformed several regional peers with a score of 70.3, a testament to its strategic efforts in this vital sector.

The UAE led the Arab world in the index with a score of 75.2, followed by Qatar at 72.4, Oman with 71.2, Saudi Arabia scoring 69.9, and Jordan at 66.2. Countries such as Yemen and Sudan recorded the lowest scores, showing room for improvement in food security.
