Argentina’s largest seafood producer secures partnership to expand sales in Middle East

Seafood Souq has become the exclusive distributor for Newsan Food’s Argentinian seafood products in Saudi Arabia, according to the Argentine firm.

This partnership aims to enhance Argentinian seafood exports to the Gulf (GCC) region. The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) brings together six Arab countries: Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

According to a statement from Seafood Souq, the partnership will allow the company to “offer a wide range of premium seafood, including Argentinian shrimp, Patagonian toothfish, and Chilean sea bass, enhancing our product offerings and market reach.”

Newsan Food owns 40 fishing vessels, 16 processing plants, and three extensive cold storage facilities. It already sells its products, which include Argentinian wild shrimp, hake, toothfish, illex squid, Chilean king crab, snow crab, Chilean swordfish, and Andean salmon trout. Additionally, it farms mussels and rainbow trout. It sells its products in 70 countries under brands like Newsan Food, Tradarsa, Valastro, Nietos de Antonio Baldino, and Pesantar.

Seafood Souq offers an “integrated digital ecosystem that ensures traceability, trade, and financing of seafood products.”
